The National Testing Agency has postponed the exam date of JEE Advanced due to the General Elections. Earlier, NTA changed the exam schedule of the Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) Main exam. As per the revised schedule, JEE Advanced 2019 will now be conducted on May 27, 2019.
Here is what official statements say:
According to the official statement by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee - the institute responsible for conducting the entrance exam to IITs this year - will now conduct the JEE Advanced on May 27, 2019 (Monday) instead of May 19.
As per the official statement, "In view of the clash in the dates of JEE (Advanced) 2019 and the last phase of General Elections 2019, the examination date of JEE (Advanced) 2019 has been shifted to May 27, 2019 (Monday). The examination will be held in India and abroad, on May 27, 2019 (Monday), in the following two shifts: Paper 1 (09:00 to 12:00 IST) and Paper 2 (14:00 to 17:00 IST)."
JEE Advanced is considered as one of the most difficult exams in India and applicants must meet the eligibility criteria in order to attempt it. After meeting the eligibility criteria candidates need to register themselves for JEE Advanced and then download the JEE Advanced admit card to appear for the examination. JEE Main 2019 results will be released during the last week of April 2019. So candidates must check their eligibility for JEE Advanced post release of the JEE Main Result 2019.
It is the second entrance exam conducted after JEE Main to facilitate admissions for candidates in B.E/B.Tech courses of IIT and other colleges. More than 14 lakh students appear in this exam every year and only an estimation of 2 lakh students enter JEE Advanced stage by qualifying JEE Main.
