The NTA has written to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) requesting if the NEET exam 2021 can be conducted twice a year. Currently, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - NEET is conducted annually for admission to 82,950 MBBS and 26,949 BDS seats in the country. With increasing the number of NEET attempts in a year, the NTA has also asked the ministry if the exam can be conducted in an online mode.
‘NEET 2021 twice a year can reduce the pressure’
The decision to hold the NEET twice would bring relief to students. However, considering the current scenario, it is difficult to conduct a pen and paper twice as it will need much larger arrangements. The NTA has also proposed that the likelihood of conducting an exam in the online mode may be examined,” an NTA official told the Hindustan Times.
NEET Aspirants experience an enormous amount of stress preparing for these highly competitive exams. If the test can be conducted more than once a year, it would hugely decrease the pressure on them.
NEET Aspirants have been demanding both the increase of attempts in a year and postponement of NEET exam till June using the #NEET2021TwoTimes or #Educationministergoeslive on Twitter.
