JEE Main 2019 April exam registrations close with 72% re-attempts

JEE Main 2019 April examination registrations have closed. As many as 9.54 lakh candidates have applied for the April 2019 examination. Out of which close to 6.69 lakh candidates have already appeared for January examination and would be appearing again in the hopes of improving their score. There are nearly 3.14 lakh new aspirants for the JEE Main II Exam.

National Testing Agency, NTA has completed the registration and online application process for JEE Main 2019 April examination. March 7 was the last date for candidates to apply online. Admit cards would be released on March 20. The examination would be conducted between April 6, 2019 to April 20, 2019. Result for JEE Main 2019 April examination would be released by April 30 along with JEE Main 2019 Rank.

Unlike the last year, JEE Main examination 2019 is being conducted twice. The reason behind this is to provide another opportunity to candidates to improve their score. Only the better of the two scores between JEE Main I (January) and JEE Main II (April 2019) would be considered for deciding the JEE Main 2019 Rank.

Please note, as many as 2,24,000 candidates would be shortlisted for JEE Advanced 2019 based on their JEE Main 2019 Rank. The application forms for JEE Advanced 2019 would be released after the declaration of JEE Main 2019 Result and Rank. JEE Advanced 2019 would be conducted on May 19, 2019 in Computer Based Test format.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) created a record of sorts by declaring the JEE Main 1 results in a record time of seven days. A total of 8,816 candidates were placed in the 99-100 percentile category in the Main 1 exam.

While declaring results, NTA has announced the individual percentile of the candidate and has not ranked the students. According to NTA, “The ranks of the candidates will be released taking into consideration better of the two NTA scores of all candidates appearing in January 2019 and April 2019 examinations. The final merit list will be declared only after the conduct of the JEE — Main 2 in April 2019.”

The JEE (Advanced) 2019 will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019. The entire JEE (Advanced) 2019 Examination will be conducted in fully computer based test mode.
